Fairytale land
The village of Møgeltønder, lying
close to sea and marshland and under broad reaching skies, resembles
something from a fairy tale. Schackenborg Slotskro is situated in this
fairytale landscape, standing at the end of a quaint, cobbled driveway where
ducks wander about during the day and old, street lamps light up the night.
The Inn, which has been licensed since 1687, can boast Schackenborg Palace
as its nearest neighbour. This has been the residence of His Royal Highness
Prince Joachim since 1995.
Today, Schackenborg Slotskro is
owned by Schackenborg Slotskro A/S – a partnership between His Royal
Highness Prince Joachim and the renowned ship owner, Hans Michael Jebsen The current landlords, Lise Winge-Petersen
& Henning Kohl Lauritsen took over on 1st March, 2006, and it is now with
great pleasure that they bid you welcome.
